We have spent a lot of time researching and understanding our McLaren Vale vineyards – the soils, climate, and varieties – and we think they are pretty darn special. More than special; we are going to say extraordinary, and we feel lucky to be their current custodians.
Grapes from our vineyards fit synonymously with our philosophy of crafting wines that suit our community and lifestyle; wines made for our food culture and are perfect to enjoy with friends.
This month we release four new Juxtaposed wines and two from Dodgy Brothers. From light, bright and fresh Cabernet Franc to the return of an old favourite in the Dodgy Brothers GSM.
The return of a much-loved favourite, the Dodgy Bros GSM is back with a blend of 45 per cent Grenache, 40 per cent Shiraz and 15 per cent Mataro from the 2017 vintage, all from the Sellicks Foothills sub region of McLaren Vale.
This wine delivers all the hallmarks of a good Southern Rhone blend. Pretty aromatics and vibrancy on the palate from the Grenache; dark fruit flavours and richness from the Shiraz; and deep purple colours and tannin structure from the Mataro.
From the Whites Valley and Dry Creek vineyards in the Sellicks Foothills sub region of McLaren Vale. Delivers all the hallmarks of McLaren Vale Shiraz: juicy, concentrated, fruit driven and delicious.
Grenache floats our boat and is unashamedly our grape of interest. We’re honoured to be able to source grapes from the Smart and Wait vineyard in McLaren Vale and see our role as purely caretakers; our wish is to highlight the natural quality of the fruit.
This wine was not fined or filtered and is drinkable, refreshing, and tastes of the place that the grapes were grown.
Fruit for the 2018 Fiano was harvested from the Lacey Vineyard in the Sellicks Foothills sub region of McLaren Vale in mid-February 2018.
This southern Italian variety is known to produce wines that are fresh, vibrant, aromatic and textured. It grows well in our climate, suits the lifestyles we lead and the food we eat. We love to work with varieties like Fiano and see a great future for the variety in McLaren Vale.
Match with any summertime dishes.
This wine is unfined and unfiltered and may appear slightly cloudy, and a harmless and tasteless sediment may be present in the bottom of the bottle.
Another wine that is custom made to suit our McLaren Vale climate and lifestyle. The Sangiovese for our 2018 rosé was harvested from the Mayfield vineyard in the Sellicks Foothills sub region of McLaren Vale. Refreshing and vibrant, this wine is the perfect match for sunshine, lighter fare and excellent company.
An almost new addition to the Juxtaposed family, sourced from the only vineyard owned by a member of the Dodgy Bros themselves.
The savvy Dodgy Bros. fans among you will know we used the fruit from this vineyard in the 2014 Dilemma, and it was an absolute belter.
This version is cool, light, bright and fresh with low alcohol – a classic patio style wine and in fact does go well after a stint in the fridge. Perfectly suited to Australia’s food culture, this is wine is our celebration of a perfect summer red.
