2017 Grenache Shiraz Mataro


Wine Notes

The 2017 Dodgy Bros GSM is a blend of 45% Grenache, 40% Shiraz and 15% Mataro, all from the Sellicks Foothills sub region of McLaren Vale. Grenache is from the Pappas vineyard on Plains Road, the Shiraz from the Dry Creek vineyard on Ryan Road and the Mataro from the Mayfield vineyard on Rogers Road. The fruit was all crushed and destemmed and matured in large format oak, with no filtering or fining before bottling.

(2013) “Deep red/purple colour. Coconutty oak dominates the nose somewhat, with background sweetly ripe raspberry and berry fruits. In the mouth: sweet and slightly plain flavour, with a little alcohol heat and grippy astringency. Good concentration, density and potential.”
