From the Wait family Vineyard in Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale. This wine comes from the ‘Sandy Corner Block’, planted in 1966. It neighbours the old Grenache block found in our Old Vine Grenache (planted 1943). This year we felt that this wine was so unique in its expression of Shiraz that it deserved to be bottled as a stand alone wine, as a homage to the vineyard. It was matured for 18 months in old French oak barriques and hogsheads, and It was not fined or filtered. This wine will reward those with patience as it will develop gracefully over the next decade, but is also approachable in its youth with bright, fresh fruit flavours. 1300 bottles produced.

"Old Vine Shiraz from Blewitt Springs. Dark, rich, concentrated and refined. A unique expression of Shiraz that tases of the place that it comes from." 95 points - QWine
"Concentrated and very good. Beautifully made too." 94 points - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
