2019 Juxtaposed Sangiovese Rosé

Wine Notes

The Sangiovese for our 2019 rosé was harvested from the Mayfield vineyard in the Sellicks Foothills sub region of McLaren Vale. It was crushed and left on skins for 4 hours before being basket pressed and fermented cool in tanks with wild and cultured yeast.

This wine was designed to be clean, fresh and gluggable!

The Wine Front

“A bit of dirt and funk, tangelo skin, white cherry. Savoury flavour, but with flesh and fruit to go, some grip and chalky texture, thyme and perfumed herbs, acidity feels almost spicy, if that makes any sense, and the finish is dry and pleasingly earthy. Like this. A whole lot of character.”

QWine Reviews

“Having spent four hours on skins, I keep peeling off veneers of interest the more I go back. Think mandarin peel, raspberries, dried basil, white cherry, the white bit of the strawberry and blood orange. It’s busy but also immensely satisfying. Fine spice barely raises its hand on a long finish as it goes about its work. Great stuff.”
